PLB Staff Volunteers Help Pack More Than 3,400 Pounds of Food at St. Louis Area Foodbank

August 13, 2025

Last week, PLB staff participated in a volunteer event at the St. Louis Area Foodbank, joining efforts to support families facing food insecurity across the region. The team of volunteers processed and packed 3,446 pounds of snacks and corn. This is equal to 2,872 meals or enough to feed one person for more than 2.6 years.

This food will be distributed at an upcoming free food distribution event hosted by the Foodbank on Friday, August 29, 2025, in downtown St. Louis. The event aims to serve up to 500 families, each receiving a one-month supply of food and essentials. No ID or income verification is required.

The distribution event will take place at the Star Lot near Busch Stadium from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while supplies last. Food will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and families may pick up food for multiple households if needed.
